Getting your Student ID, MyRegent ID and creating a password:

All brand-new incoming students will receive a welcome letter sent to the personal email address on file. An example is shown below.

A few items, numbered above, are important for your account creation and a good idea for record keeping.

  1. Your student ID (also called Banner ID) will typically start with one letter followed by numbers (e.g. B99999999). It's strongly recommended this ID is recorded for future reference because it's used by some departments to verify your identity.
  2. Your MyRegent ID will typically be parts of your first and last name. You will be using this username for logging into the MyRegent portal so you'll be using this username each time for logging in. In addition, it's the beginning portion of your student email address.
  3. Your password creation link. It's strongly recommended to create a password while on a computer instead of a mobile device or tablet. Here, you'll be required to enter your personal email address, your student ID (1), your MyRegent ID (2), and if applicable, your postal/zip code. If your country doesn't have a postal/zip code, click on the checkbox to skip that requirement.
    • After verification, you're required to create a password which has a list of requirements that must be met.
      • As of 7/11/25, here are the current requirements

Getting Duo Mobile set up:

With your MyRegent ID and password, you're almost set up to log in. One last piece to get set up is Duo Mobile, our multi factor authentication system.

  1. First, navigate to your smartphone's or tablet's app store to locate the app Duo Mobile, the icon is shown below.
  2. Install the app Duo Mobile on your smartphone or tablet. This will be required each time you sign into a new browser. There's a function in Duo, using cookies, to remember that device's web browser for a week so you don't need to verify each time you log in.
    • If your smartphone or tablet is out of date and the operating system version isn't supported by the app anymore, or you don't own a smartphone or tablet, please call the IT Help Desk for other options.
  3. After the app is installed on your phone, go back to your computer, navigate to the website https://my.regent.edu, enter your MyRegent ID and newly created password. You'll next be prompted to set up Duo Mobile on your phone or mobile device.
    • You'll be prompted to choose what type of device you want to add. We strongly urge to being with Duo Mobile, you can add additional methods later on. For more information on how to enroll a device, review the guide from Duo.
    • After selecting Duo Mobile, enter your phone number or click the button I have a tablet if your smartphone doesn't have a data plan or you're enrolling a tablet.
    • Next, you'll need to open the Duo Mobile app and click the button Set up account and then click Use a QR code.
      • If you already have Duo Mobile activated with other accounts, click Add and then click Use QR code.
