One Drive is a cloud storage service hosted by Microsoft. In order to access it, you must sign in with an Office account. Your Regent One Drive account is signed in with [YourMyRegentID]@regent.edu. You can have multiple One Drive accounts logged in and accessible; however, each of them will be separated by a different email address and they cannot be merged.
*Warning: Similar to your access to Office 365, access to your Regent One Drive account ends when you are no longer a student or Regent employee. If you need to retain access to files you store on your Regent One Drive account, be sure to back them up locally or on a cloud service you will retain access to.
Where can One Drive be accessed?
- On Microsoft Office programs: Whenever you sign into your Microsoft account in programs like Word, Excel, or Powerpoint; One Drive automatically becomes available as a location you can save to under the "Save As" page. *This specific feature may be disabled on campus PCs and will need to be accessed elsewhere.
- On the web: You may access Office applications at regent.edu/office. On this same page, you may access the "apps" button (
) at the top left of the page then select "One Drive." Here you can individually upload, download, and manage files stored in One Drive.
- Inside File Explorer on your PC: If One Drive has been signed into on the One Drive app for Windows or Mac, it should appear as a location inside of your file system. If you are signed in with your Regent One Drive account, it will appear as "OneDrive - Regent University." Any other accounts will be labeled with "Personal."
Troubleshooting issues with One Drive on a PC
Since One Drive is account based, you may encounter scenarios where One Drive refuses to sync or explicitly mentions you are not signed in. Use the navigation below to locate One Drive on your system and then sign in again if needed.
*You may occasionally also need to restart the One Drive program if re-signing in fails to sync files. On both systems, the One Drive pane's gear icon can be clicked and "Quit One Drive" will close the program. You may start it again from the Start Menu on Windows or from your App Launcher on Mac.
- On Windows, you can inspect One Drive under the system tray on the bottom right of the screen. If the cloud icon does not appear at all, you may need to start One Drive from the Start Menu.
- On Mac, you may locate One Drive on the top right of the screen. If the cloud icon does not appear here, you may need to start One Drive from your App Launcher.
