Exporting passwords from Chrome



  1. On your computer, open Chrome
  2. At the top right, select More (1) and then Passwords and autofill (2) and then Google Password Manager (3).
  3. In the new tab, click Settings (4) and in the section labeled Export Passwords, click Download file (5)
  4. You'll probably be prompted to enter your computer's password to confirm this is an action you want to do.
  5. After entering your password, a new window will pop up to save the CSV file. When choosing a destination, select your Desktop or Documents folders. This file will be used to import your passwords into the other computer.


WARNING: Any saved passwords will be in plain text. This means any user who has access to the file will have access to your username and password. We strongly urge you to delete the file after importing the credentials to the new computer.


Importing passwords into Chrome


Importing is much the same as exporting except you'll select Select file at the last step in the above images and then select the CSV file.



Exporting passwords from Firefox



  1. Click the menu button (1) to open the menu panel and click Passwords (2).
  2. Click on the three dots (3) and then select Export Passwords... (4)
  3. You'll be prompted with a warning before exporting. After confirming you want to export it, a new window will pop up to save the CSV file. When choosing a destination, select your Desktop or Documents folders. This file will be used to import your passwords into the other computer.

Importing passwords into Firefox


Importing is much the same as exporting except you'll select Import from a File at the last step in the above images and then select the CSV file.



Exporting passwords from Edge



  1. In your Microsoft Edge browser, open the Settings and more menu (1) in the upper-right corner of the window.
  2. Navigate to Settings (2).
  3. Click Passwords and autofill (3) and then select Microsoft Password Manager (4).
  4. Click the dots (5) on the right side in the Passwords section and select Export passwords (6).
  5. You'll be prompted with a warning and then required to enter your computer logon password. After confirming you want to export it, a new window will pop up to save the CSV file. When choosing a destination, select your Desktop or Documents folders. This file will be used to import your passwords into the other computer.
