The syllabus will need to be updated frequently to give students the most up-to-date information for the course. To attach a syllabus, you will need the file accessible on your PC; cloud uploads are not currently supported. Please see the Downloading documents from One Drive guide for more information if you have your syllabi stored on One Drive.

1. Once you have the syllabus file you want to attach in Canvas, go to the "Syllabus" page.
2. Next, click on the pencil icon on the top right that says "Edit"
3. You will be presented the Rich Text Editor. Place your cursor where you would like the syllabus to be attached and then click on: Insert>Document>Upload Document
4. On the next page, click on "Upload File" and select the syllabus you would like to attach.
5. Click "Submit" to upload the document.

6. To give student's the best viewing experience, the link has options on how it will preview the document on the page. Click on the syllabus title, and a "Link Options" button will appear.

7. Once Link Options is opened in a panel on the right, change the link options to "Preview inline" and check "Expand preview by Default." *Be sure to click on "Done" to save the changes.


8. Once the document has been attached in the Rich Text Editor, confirm everything else on the page is correct and then click "Update Syllabus"

9. After this is complete, the syllabus can be accessed by students on the Syllabus page. The syllabus can also be downloaded by using the arrow icon next to the document title.
