Purpose: To give students an opportunity to check their draft versions of their assignments for plagiarism before final submission using TurnItIn.
Log Into Canvas: Choose the relevant course.
Navigate to Assignments: Click "Assignments" from the left navigation menu.

Create a New Assignment: Click on the + Assignment button.
Name: Enter a descriptive name like "Turnitin Rough Draft Check."
Instructions: Inform students that this is for checking drafts and is not graded.
Example note: "Use this link to submit your rough drafts and check for plagiarism before your final submission. This assignment will not be graded."Points: Set to 0.
Assignment Group: Select the appropriate assignment or select "Individual Assignments".
Display Grade as: Choose "Points."
Exclude from Final Grade: Check/select "Do not count this assignment towards the final grade."
- Set Submission Type: Choose "Online."

Choose Online Entry Options: Enable "Text Entry" and "File Uploads."
Allow Unlimited Submission Attempts: Set "Submission Attempts" to "Unlimited."

Enable Turnitin for Plagiarism Review:
Select "Turnitin" from the "Plagiarism Review" drop-down.
Uncheck "Index all submissions."
8. Save and Publish: Make sure to publish the assignment and ensure it's accessible to students.
Please Note:
Preview the Assignment: Verify setup by previewing the assignment as a student.
Communicate with Students: Make sure students are aware of this resource, emphasizing that it is non-graded.
