Setting Up the Regent Grading Scheme for a Course

In this document, you will learn how to enable and set up the Regent Grading Scheme in Canvas. At Regent, we use a specific grading scheme that aligns with our syllabus. This grading scheme reflects the letter grades listed in the syllabus. Faculty must not use the "Default Canvas Grading Scheme" to ensure consistency with our academic standards.

Follow these steps to enable the Regent Grading Scheme:

  1. In Course Navigation, click the Settings link.

  2. Click the Course Details tab.

  3. Check the Enable course grading scheme checkbox (1).

  4. From the Grading Scheme drop-down menu (2), select Regent Grading Scheme.

  5. Click the View/Edit button to review the grading scheme.

  1. Click the Update Course Details button to save changes.
     

Important Note: Ensure that you select the Regent Grading Scheme (ONLY) as the "Default Canvas Grading Scheme" should not be used. Adherence to this guideline is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the grading standards.
