As an instructor, you can limit the number of submission attempts allotted to students. Limiting assignment attempts is only available for assignments with the Online submission type.

In Course Navigation, click the Assignments link.

Click the assignment name, open the existing assignment you wish to edit, and click on "Edit" (located in the top right corner) or create a new assignment by clicking "+ Assignment."
- On the assignment details page, scroll down and locate the "Submission Attempts "section. Here, you will see options to limit the number of attempts a student can make.

Select "Limited" and enter the desired number of attempts you wish to allow for this assignment.

Click "Save" or "Save and Publish" to apply your changes.
Please note that by default, assignments are set to allow unlimited attempts. Click here for more details.
